Swedish, German and American radio
This is great stuff from the playlists of Swedish National Radio (P3):
Sunday 25/1 kl. 20.52 - Emerald Park, "The Commonfield"
Friday 23/1 kl 18.22 - Emerald Park, "The Commonfield"
Monday 19/1 kl 11.56 - Emerald Park, "The Commonfield"

"At the Mall" was featured on "45 Minutes" with Uwe Jähnichen, Radio Blau and "Pop on Paper", Monday 22:nd of January. Other bands on that playlist were: "Peter Bjorn And John", "Suburban Kids With Biblical Names" and "Jenny Wilson".

The 22:nd of January you could also hear "For Tomorrow" on Oregon Public Broadcasting (Opb). And that wasn't the first time.

PopMatters and Re-flection reviews on "For Tomorrow"
Popmatters.com has just posted this review of our album and rated it 7/10!
"Emerald Park are an indie-pop outfit from Malmo, Sweden. For Tomorrow,
their second album, is full of bright, catchy songs and refreshingly
free of artifice. The album doesn’t come with a built-in gimmick or a
breathless press release proclaiming the band’s indie credibility.
Instead, the band simply delivers 45-plus minutes of well-written,
likable songs..."

A year ago we wrote "maybe we should move to Germany" in this blog. After the last week we might consider that again.
A review in the magazine "re-flection" gives "For Tomorrow" 8/10. Read the review here..

Emerald Park - "Best of 2008"

An amazing year finished in an amazing way! The last week we had two of the songs from "For tomorrow" on British and American podcast-shows. "The Commonfield" is featured on "Indie Music Sampler" and "Pasadena" on Ourobouros Podcast - Indie Music. Thank you Paul and Colin!
In Sweden we have also made a breakthrough. Last Monday I accidently listened to the radio in my car and imagine my surprise when I all of a sudden heard "The Commonfield" on P3. For an indieband such as Emerald Park, that is huge. It also got to my knowledge that they had played it before. Now I'm stuck to the radio hoping they'll play it again. I think they will because that is what Swedish Radio do - play the same songs again, and again and again. Sometimes that is nice, sometimes you can't stand it...
In Brazil Dione and Carol are currently preparing for the "For Tomorrow"-release. The exact date is not yet set, but it looks like February. Imagine someone listening to "Värnhem", a part of Malmö City, or "Ume", the Swedish town, on a shore in Sao Paolo - lovely!
We would also like to thank "Azelpds" for playing Emerald Park and we are extremely proud to be on the "Best of 2008"-list. If you speak Portuguese you can read the motivation here.
"For Tomorrow" is also on the "Best of 2008" list at Frekvens.dk in Denmark. Thank you Stytzer!
We wish you all a very nice 2009 and hopefully we'll see you somewhere at a stage nearby!

Said about "For Tomorrow"
Melodic.net, by Tom Spinelli

"It’s been 4 years since Emerald Park's debut album Sadness Within, but with that amount of time spent on the new record you know it may be something worth while. A nice flow of catchy tune sparkles on this album of pop rock tunes. The indie sound is what is mostly intriguing about this group. The Commonfield and Pasadena combine sound from bands like Arcade Fire, The Cure (older stuff) mixed with sound from bands like Death Cab for Cutie and sometimes that new wave feel of New Order. The first single released from the album A Higher Loss, already is catching an audience. The album was produced by Moonbabies multi instrumentalist Ola Frick, for an easy listening experience.

The female vocals in The Commonfield add the ambience and creativity to the mix of the songs giving it more of an indie feel. The bands mixture of the two vocals intertwined create a delicate landscape for the indie scene. Lights of Sunday has the be the most standout track on the album as it glees with acoustic rock passion and solid production for the mainstream. This is a track you can hear in a movie scene or credits. The ambient constant drums hits in the background make the chills run down your spine on this track.

The depths combined with the atmospheric airiness will be quite a treat to first time listeners. It's the old new wave sound intigrated with the new modern indie rock music on the album that really is a fresh approach. The female voclas placed perfectly within the male vocals that are a plus on the almost slow dance-like beats based on influences from the classic bands. This new album full of 12 new songs should open up a whole new audience to this band immensely. Give this album a shot as its easy listening will capture you with the first of many listens.

"Champagne at Emerald Park...
Two very interesting new releases by two Scandinavian artists have been spinning merrily in the office today. Sophomore album For Tomorrow by Sweden’s Emerald Park has been on the radar for quite some time now, and it will finally be released November 14 by small German web label afmusic. Ever since I featured the band for the first time back in September last year, a constant stream of fine new demo recordings and mixes of older tracks have been floating our way, which for my part helped to increase the expectations. Expectations are always difficult to deal with, but For Tomorrow just doesn’t leave any room for disappointments, as the album’s 12 catchy and well-produced (by Ola of Moonbabies) pop songs gives us far more than we could realistically hope for.
+ Pasadena
+ Lights of Sunday
+ The Commonfield (thanks to Tobias this will be up for the next 48 hours)"

"Swedish for Beginners" reser ner hit från Göteborg. Gå in på www.myspace.com/swedishforbeginners och lyssna. Underbar pop utlovas.
